What is a citation?
A citation is a way to show that you took quotes, an idea, or media from another place or person to support your research.
Think of it as an address allowing others to locate the same source that you found.
A list of references, bibliography, or a works cited page are all terms used to refer to a list of citations that you've collected and included at the end of a paper or other research project.
Why should I cite my sources?
It's important to cite your sources so that other people can find the same material you did, but also to avoid plagiarism by giving credit to others' work.
