Using information ethically is a key aspect of the college’s core learning ability of Information Literacy and a college wide Copyright Policy has been produced.
The following material has been prepared by the WCC Library to assist the college community in understanding their privileges rights and responsibilities in using copy-protected material.
The library website has a page to assist Faculty in navigating complex copyright issues. We also assist faculty in finding, using, and teaching with Open Educational Resources.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation has created curriculum to aid students in understanding copyright law. In addition, the Library has created information on how to avoid plagiarism and how to create research citations.
For rights holders
If you feel that material in which you are a copyright stakeholder is erroneously hosted on college servers, we encourage you to contact the Copyright Librarian. Notices of alleged copyright infringement will be investigated promptly and material deemed to be infringing will be taken down.
